Ramadan customs of people in Hama province (photos)

Hama, SANA- People in Hama province maintain their old customs and social and religious traditions, especially those of the holy month Ramadan, which they have inherited from their predecessors.

In an interview with SANA, social researcher Abdul Karim Hallaq indicated that Ramadan rituals begin with feasts, as relatives invite each other to eat typical Hama dishes and drink delicious juice, including, orange and lemon, and rose syrup.

One of the customs of Hama families during Ramadan is to stay up very late at night, some play and others sing.

He pointed out that the “Masaharatieh” walk in the streets of the city, to wake up those who are fasting to pray and eat the early morning meal” al-Souhour”.

Masaharati does his job of waking up those who are fasting by beating a drum and reciting some religious songs.
