Syria participates in a concert at Algiers Opera House in solidarity with Palestinian people

Algiers, SANA- With the participation of Maestro Missak Baghboudarian, conductor of the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra and Syrian academic musicians, Algerian Ministry of Culture and Arts organized a cultural solidarity concert entitled “Peace for Palestine” at Algiers Opera House in support of the Palestinian people.

The concert, in which approximately 150 male and female artists of all ages participated, included diverse artistic works performed by the Symphony Orchestra of Algiers Opera, led by Maestro Lotfi Saidi from Algeria and Maestro Baghboudarian, and with the participation of Syrian musicians.

The concert, whose proceeds went entirely to providing aid to the Palestinian people, aimed to raise the voice in order to defend the values of justice and peace in the language of the people, which is the language of music, while its program included presenting Arabic, international, and heritage musical and singing pieces that carry many humanitarian and solidarity messages with the Palestinian people.

“Our participation in this important concert confirms the role of culture in all its forms in conveying national positions and the righteous issues, and embodies the role of music and musicians in expressing humanitarian issues,” Maestro Missak Baghboudarian said in a statement to SANA.

He noted that music is a social and cultural condition, adding that the participation of three countries, Syria, Algeria and Tunisia, in the concert is a reflection of the Arab cultural content.

Maestro Bagbudrian said that at the end of 2023, the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra and the Syrian National Orchestra for Arabic Music presented two musical evenings in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
