Syria’s Al Thawra Basketball team keeps shining at AWST 2024

Abu Dhabi, SANA – Syrian Al Thawra Basketball Club team achieved its fourth victory in the first round of competitions at the 7th edition of the Arab Women Sport Tournament (AWST 2024).

In the competition currently being held in the Emirate of Sharjah, the Syrian team won over its Iraqi counterpart, Iraq’s Gaz Al Shamal, with a score of (77 / 58).

Earlier, Al-Thawra had defeated Kuwaiti Al-Fatat with a score of 80-77, and the UAE’s Sharjah Women’s Sports Club with a score of 78-47, in addition to defeating Saudi Arabia’s Capital Club, clinching a win with a final score of 78-58.

At the end of the round, Syria’s Al Thawra Club and Jordan’s Al Fuheis Club bolstered their standing at the top of the overall standings with a perfect score and an undefeated record, advancing to a tally of six points each, two points ahead of both the Saudi Capital and the Bahraini Al Ahli Club. The loss of the Iraqi team resulted in them remaining in fifth place with three points, just one point ahead of Kuwaiti Al-Fatat and UAE’s Sharjah Women’s Sports Club.
