Mamlouk: Preserving National Identity is basic factor for safety of countries

Moscow, SANA-National Security Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Presidency of the Republic, Major General Ali Mamlouk, said Thursday that national identity and values ​​are the first line of defense possessed by society to maintain social unity and its internal immunity in the face of foreign agendas.

“Preserving national identity and traditional values ​​for the sake of security, peace and international stability is an important issue at a time when some countries seek to tear apart other countries and invade them by targeting their national identity and attacking their social values to achieve their political agenda under misleading slogans and titles,” Mamlouk said in a speech before the 12th International Meeting of the High-Level officials of Security issues, held in the Russian city of St. Petersburg.

Mamlouk went on to say that the terrorist war on Syria was targeting identity and Belonging, which means targeting the first line of defense for the community responsible for preserving social unity in the face of foreign agendas and culture invasion attempts, expressing Syria’s appreciation for Russia’s support to Syria in counter-terrorism.
